The Record Plant threw a Halloween party on October 31, 1975, and the broadcast became an official A&M album years later: Back It Up!! — An Authorized Bootleg, styled to look like a bootleg in the tradition of The Who's Live at Leeds, but sanctioned by the label. Al Kooper guested on keyboards alongside Lofgren's core band. Seven tracks made the eventual release; an eighth, "Rock and Roll Crook," was performed but left off. The album didn't reach commercial release until 2007, thirty-two years after the session.
