The Tubes
The Tubes — KSAN, 1974-11-21
November 21, 1974 · Record Plant Sausalito
Listen
Five months after their first Record Plant session that June, the Tubes returned on November 21, 1974, noticeably tighter. The fourteen-track set includes an overture, "Space Baby," "Haircut," "What Do You Want from Life," and "White Punks on Dope," a preview of the theatrical rock and satire that would define their A&M debut, still months away. It's the second of the band's two documented 1974 KSAN broadcasts from the same studio, both catching them mid-formation before their major-label sound had fully locked in.
