Tracy Chapman recorded and mixed Let It Rain at The Plant between March and August 2002. She co-produced with John Parish, known for his work with PJ Harvey, and cut it with a band that included Joey Waronker, Greg Leisz, Joe Gore, and Patrick Warren. Paul du Gré engineered, and John Cuniberti mastered it at The Plant Mastering. Elektra released it on October 15, 2002.
