Linda Ronstadt

Linda Ronstadt came to the Record Plant on November 18, 1973, touring her newly released Asylum album Don't Cry Now, which included her cover of "Desperado" years before the Eagles made it famous. Heart Like a Wheel, the record that would make her a star, was still a year away. Andrew Gold played guitar in one of his earliest documented appearances with her band, alongside Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and Jimmy Hodder, both fresh off session work with Steely Dan. KSAN's Richard Gossett introduced the set rather than Tom Donahue, cutting in over Ronstadt's rehearsal in an unusually unscripted moment for the series.
