Robin Trower
August 11, 1973 · Record Plant Sausalito
Robin Trower left Procol Harum in 1971 to form his own power trio, and his debut solo LP, Twice Removed from Yesterday, had just been released when he brought the band to the Record Plant on August 11, 1973. The album that would make him a headliner, Bridge of Sighs, was still eight months away. Comparisons to Jimi Hendrix followed Trower everywhere at this stage of his career; Bridge of Sighs would later put most of that conversation to rest on its own terms. This broadcast documents the trio, with James Dewar on vocals and Reg Isidore on drums, working toward that breakthrough record.
