Engineer Jim Gaines was working on Con Funk Shun's Electric Lady when John Fogerty called him about Centerfield, which places both projects at 2200 Bridgeway around 1984. The Vallejo band's album credits The Plant Studios in Sausalito alongside Skip Saylor Recording in Los Angeles and Greene Street in New York. Mercury released it in 1985.
