DATE PRECISION: YEAR ONLY (1985). CENSUS 2026-06-04: Journey — Sessions During Federal Seizure (1985). These sessions are the same recording project as 'Journey — Raised on Radio' (), kept as a separate row because the federal seizure is a historically distinct and significant event. In September 1985, the studio was raided by federal marshals. Owner Stanley Jacox was indicted for methamphetamine manufacturing and investing drug proceeds in the studio. Journey was mid-session on what became Raised on Radio when marshals descended. Producer Jim Gaines gave a firsthand account: as he approached the door, federal marshals with police surrounded him. The session was abruptly halted. Also interrupted: active projects by Heart, Starship, and Huey Lewis. This seizure led directly to the sale of the studio to Arne Frager, who renamed it The Plant Studios. Article published on 2200studios.us. Source: UPI Archives (1985), KQED Running the Record Plant, Chapter 8. [SITE] candidate — this incident is the pivotal moment in the studio's transition from Record Plant to The Plant.
