Journey

Journey had no album, no radio play, and a drummer borrowed from another band when they played the Record Plant on May 12, 1974. Prairie Prince was sitting in from the Tubes while Aynsley Dunbar waited in the wings. The lineup that night, Gregg Rolie, Neal Schon, George Tickner, and Ross Valory, previewed material that would end up on their debut album a year before anyone outside the Bay Area knew who they were. The broadcast is documented by an Oakland Tribune radio listing from the same night, confirming the date against a conflicting setlist.fm entry.
